Wirihana is a large scale (11ha) masterplanned residential development, located in close proximity to Manukau City centre, that benefits from all of the local town centre amenities and public transport hubs. It is well connected to motorway on-ramps in all directions including SH1 and SH20. Working with development partner Te Ākitai Waiohua, the site was purchased from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (MHUD) as a Land for Housing Project, with KiwiBuild providing underwrite support for nearly 100 homes in Stage 1. Crosson Architects and Isthmus, both industry leaders in their fields, have designed the project incorporating best practice philosophies throughout. The masterplan leverages off the existing open spaces around the perimeter of the site and within it, as well as the stormwater management features. A wide range of home typologies are to be provided (standalone, duplex, terraced houses) with terraced homes being the predominant typology.
