Kōtuitui Place, Manukau City
Kōtuitui is a Māori word meaning ‘interlink’ and was specifically selected as the name of the Barrowcliffe Place housing development with support from Te Ākitai Waiohua. In essence, kōtuitui represents the connections that are being created and anchored through the development and will continue into the future.
Kōtuitui is an attractive urban development located within only 500m of the Manukau city centre. The project is well located to all the town centre ammenities, key bus and train stations, parks and open spaces; Kōtuitui will provide over 100 well-appointed new homes, all within an easy stroll of these great amenities. With the sites adjacency to the public transport, and the changes to automobile use already occurring, the development has a minimised focus on cars and carparking – making the homes and the people the focus of the community.
With an assembled team of experts in residential development, the project has been comprehensively designed, such that it provides aspirational yet affordable homes that are tailored for first home buyers, and smaller families.
Crosson Architects have provided a wonderful design that provides liveable spaces in this master planned development. A smart urban form has been designed that creates a high level of architectural interest and variety while using robust and dependable low maintenance exterior materials.
By designing the homes and the neighbourhood in a cohesive manner, the private and public spaces within the development are located and designed using levels, form, and landscaping to make best use of the private and public areas, and optimise the enjoyment of these while respecting the adjacency of each.
Building is underway with the first homes due to be completed September 2020.
